Biography

Jennifer O. D'Andrea, Settlement Consultant & Mediator, has successfully mediated nearly 10,000 disputes. She has been active since 2000 assuming the roles of mediator and consultant in a variety of cases, including the highly publicized FEN-PHEN Class Action litigation, managing 8,210  plaintiffs and their individual settlement needs.

 

Jennifer began her settlement career with EPS Settlements Group (EPSSG), a defense oriented company headquartered in Denver, Colorado and in 2003, transitioned to their sister company Millennium Settlements in Tallahassee, Florida as a Plaintiff's oriented consultant. In 2005 she became an independent consultant and dispute resolution specialist in private practice, providing coaching, mediation, facilitation, and training. 

 

While Jennifer continues to work with plaintiffs and their attorneys attending mediations and settlement conferences as required in the negotiation and resolution of personal injury cases, she primarily serves as a Mediator in the neutral capacity according to the standards of the New York State Unified Court System. In 2016 she shifted her area of practice in Mediation to Family, Divorce, Custody and Visitation, with a heavy focus on Veteran and Military issues. Through a pre-pandemic program in partnership with a local attorney and UB Law School, she offered  Pro Bono legal services to qualifying Veterans. She continues to offer that service independently in her Mediation practice.

 

Jennifer is a military brat who grew up at Marine Corps base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. Through her personal experiences, work in the legal community and respect for those who serve our country, she understands the needs of Veterans and Military families thus Founding 501(C)(3) not for profit S.E.R.V. Niagara in 2012. S.E.R.V. Niagara is the first and only organization in Niagara County, New York to provide housing exclusively for homeless and disabled Veterans and their families. S.E.R.V.'s housing programs provide a uniquely structured program to support, educate, employ, empower and promote healing, all of which foster the ultimate goal of self-sufficiency and keeping families together.


Utilizing her legal experience, philanthropy and personal experiences in an effort to help others, Jennifer has served as a liaison in the Lockport City Treatment Courts, Niagara County Veterans Court, and speaks on social issues such as substance abuse, domestic violence and the effects on children and families. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Niagara County Judges and Police Executive Conference, NYSDRA (New York State Dispute Resolution Association), NIMAC (Niagara Military Affairs Council), and previously served on Congressman Chris Collins' Veteran Advisory Board. Jennifer is also a Personal Development Coach and Ordained Minister in the Christian Faith.

 

Most recently in 2022, Jennifer was recognized by Senator Robert G. Ortt for her successful STEM program through the nonprofit. This program, acknowledged by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in Albany, raised awareness to an environmental issue in which participating high school students developed a solution so individuals could comply with existing laws. All students were also recognized and awarded scholarships for post high school education.

 

In 2019 Jennifer was presented the New York State Woman of Distinction Award by Senator Robert G. Ortt and the NYS Legislature. In 2017 she was honored by the New York National Guard with the Family Programs Recognition & Youth Award. In 2016 she was presented the Unsung Hero Award by the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans and was a 2017 presenter at their annual conference in Washington, D.C., "Creating Housing Solutions In Small Communities". Jennifer was also a 2015 Congressional Medal of Honor Citizen Honors national finalist, and was awarded the 2014 Community Support Award by the Lockport Business Association.
